この役割から、参議院は「再考の府」と呼ばれます。

It’s hard to believe and regrettable that Mr. Abe, a leading figure in Japanese politics, was shot dead from behind at close range with a homemade gun. That could have been easily prevented. I’m afraid Japan has taken peace and safety for granted for too long. The country must learn from this tragedy and improve its security measures. There could have been a lot more casualties.
