Prime Minister Kishida announced that Japan will accept refugees from Ukraine, keeping steps with other nations. It was surprising for me because Japanese government had been reluctant to do it. Actually, Japan accepted only a few Syrian refugees. I hope it will be a turning point of the policy toward refugees.

I pray for peace in Ukraine. However, on the other hand we are having concerts with a Russian conductor this week . We are just musicians. Of course, we never feel Putin’s spirit from his conduct. There is only our great sound and music. We are confused, but we are thinking about what is a country? what is a human being? what is music? every day.

But, unfortunately, what’s happening to Ukraine can happen to any country. So the world must work together to stop the Russian tyrant now, no matter what!

What on earth is man doing in the midst of the climate change crisis and endangerment of life, on a planet which has been polluted by human civilization? As it is called Putin’s war, it appears to be a personal outburst by Putin after 15 years of pent-up indignation. It’s like the terrible outburst of an old man who has been deluded by power.
冷戦は過去のものと思っていた自分がいかに平和ぼけであったかを今回思い知らされました。プーチンはNATO東進に対する怒りを15年もため続けていたと言われていますが、権力の座に長く居続けた人間が耄碌した悲劇の歴史を今回も繰り返すのでしょうか。
