Week02☆Day5：時事Topicの感想・意見ご紹介1
おはようございます！やさしい英語ニュースのAkiです。
昨日、メルマガで「今週の時事Topicの感想・意見」を募集したところ、行動力ある読者の方々からたくさんご提出いただきました！
「時事Topicの感想・意見提出」の趣旨
この課題の目的は「国内外で話題の時事社会問題に関心を持ち、自分の考えを表現する訓練」です。
英作文の添削課題ではないため、単語や表現、文法が間違っていてもOKです。
むしろ「正しい英語にしないと」と意識して気軽にOutputできなくなるのが良くないです。
日本人が「英語で話すのが苦手な２つの大きな理由」は「意見を発表する習慣がないこと」と「間違いを恐れること」です。
今回の課題に繰り返し取り組むことで、これらの弱点を一気に克服しましょう。

I was fed up with the expressions ‘too beautiful assemblywoman or athlete ‘ etc. Recently, TV programs and magazine ads don’t use such stereotyped, annoying, and meaningless phrases. However, expression for nice looking men ‘ikemen’ is still used very often. It sounds like the guy is just handsome.

Japan’s gender equality is still far away to go. The number of women whose the company’s CEO, chief of the organization, and politicians are predominantly low compared to other countries. On the other hand, a poll shows that most Japanese think men are hard to live than women. What the hell is going on?
非常に有意義な企画ですね。Topicの感想を書いたら70文字くらいになってそぎ落とすのに苦労しました、それでも4文字ほどオーバーです、すみません。

One of the reasons why some women don’t hope to become leaders is that they realize the difficulty of balancing their work and family life. They can’t be confident about social support and their partners’ help. A revolutionary change of Japan’ established society would be distant.
いくつか考えが浮かんだ時に50単語以内でまとめるのは結構難しいです。 ！

I think people are bound by the mentality, which is “Women are women’s greatest enemy” and should change it to the mindset, “Women support other women.” We shouldn’t kick others downstairs to get promoted but we need to brush up ourselves instead.

The traditional values as being a good wife and mother still exist and women have to live up to those expectations in many cases. Not only the better working environment but also the education and training for female workers will be needed to create more leaders.
50語でまとめるのは難しいですね、語彙の使い方も悩ましいです。１つのトピックをインプットとアウトプットとじっくり取り組めるのはとっても良いですね。参加させていただくことで、モチベーションも維持できる気がするので、とってもありがたいです。

We have to think deeply who is a proper person to promote regardless of men or women. Of course it’s not good thing to increase female executives to just rise the women percentage without ability judgement. The important thing is who is suitable.
硬い時事ニュースの意見を考えると日本語も硬くなってしまい、その日本語を英語に変えるのは難しく、いかにシンプルな英語に置き換えられるか苦戦します。

I have been working as a local government officer and non-profit association employee, I think gender gap has become less in these days. But even labor union top says so, in private sector gender gap still remains seriously.
前回はまず日本語で書いてから英語にしましたが、今回は最初から英語に挑戦しました。言葉がなかなか出てこなくて、もどかしい限りでした。

I think women making up a disproportionate percentage of non-regular workforce is due to the traditional attitude that women should place more importance on family and the difficulty of achieving a work-life balance in the regular employment work style. Japan should give top priority to reforming the way of working.
いつも身につまされるトピックで考え込んでしまいます。

「自然で正しい英語表現を心がける」のはもちろん大事ですが、そもそも、Output練習の数稽古を積まないと身につきません。
いろいろ試行錯誤しながらOutputを重ねることで、文法ミスや不自然な表現が徐々に矯正されていくのです。
