Being a good listener to what others say is important. On the other hand, it seems that listening to what people’s opinions on everything or doing waffle statements are showing his lack of confidence and lack of his firm political belief as a Prime Minister.

The government has a point in thinking that if the benefits are paid in cash, they will be put aside for savings to weaken the economic effect. However, considering the original purpose of the handout, the government should choose the method that is most beneficial to the recipients.

I can easily imagine that under the COVID-19 pandemic all the municipalities have been extremely busy. In addition to handling COVID measures, if they have to work on arranging vouchers, it might be waste of time and tax. On the other hand, in case of distributing cash, I worry about the situations that a father or a mother would spend the money for themselves, not for their children. I know one of my friends who said the past cash distribution of 100,000yen went into her husband’s bank account and he used it for himself. I hope this distribution should be given to people in need.

I can understand the government’s plan which helps to boost Japan’s economy. However it is said it costs a lot for preparing vouchers .In addition, it imposes a heavy burden on municipal corporations. :I think, the government, first of all, need to help people who are struggling for their living in this pandemic.

I strongly support the government’s decision to allocate the benefits entirely in cash because it is the most convenient for us. Fortunately, my city chose to allocate the benefits entirely in cash. I probably spend it for my daughter’s day-care fee, which becomes of great help.

The policy is too easy way to support child-rearing households that really need a financial help. Because it’s just a temporary support. I think they need not temporary money but a long-term support that they can live by themselves, and an environment that they can continue to study without worry.

I wonder how the government came up with the idea of giving 100,000 yen to child-rearing families. If it aims to boost the economy, it should provide the money to low-income households with or without children. If I had young children, I would save the money instead of spending it.

I think it was a good thing to get child-rearing households 100,000 yen in cash because it could cut lots of cost of making vouchers. Though this is seemingly kind policy, we have to remember this cash isn’t a present but it’s debt. I’m worried about rising tax in the near future.

This topic reminds me of two proverbs. One is “kill two birds with one stone“ and the other is “He who runs after two hares will catch neither”. Of course, the government didn’t lose two, but they lost people’s reliance on their policy in mind, I think.

This pandemic is the first experience for all of the world, so I understand that the policies of each country are sometimes confusing or make mistakes. And I think the important thing is to get support to people who need help, not cash or a voucher.

Basically I have welcomed the government’s decision to pay the benefits entirely in cash, but I thing the benefits should be paid to all those who are in economically difficult situations. As long as the cash handouts only covers child-rearing households, Japan’s economy won’t boosted.

First of all, I didn’t agree with the plan. Because there’re more people with financial problems, for example, families with college students. Every time I’ve heard the news of handouts, I am skeptical they would be used properly and work for economic revitalization.
