China’s argument that politics should not be brought into sports seems to have a point, but I think it is one-sided. The issue of politicization of sports should be discussed only after the Chinese government provides an explanation for this incident and the countries that send athletes to China are convinced.

I was very surprised that a female player had taken such action and complained about the problem that had happened to her, and I felt that she was not only a great tennis player but also a great member of society.

I noticed that i haven’t heard about these news recently. I wonder Chinese government regulate a rule not to spread this topic, or Japanese TV doesn’t broadcast it. Anyway, I strongly feel that she is doing well!

I’ve heard the news that China has had a plan for a “sport wash”, I think it means they hide to do something wrong. And she talked to Mr.Bach (IOC) online and joined the tennis match for the kids, I feel like something is strange…

It’s disgusting and unacceptable that a person in power forces a sexual relationship on someone. I’m glad the Women’s Tennis Association quickly took action, and many national tennis federations are supporting its decision. I hope the truth comes to light, justice is served, and most of all, the player is safe.

China should not abuse state power without good reason. We have to admit China’s power politically, economically, and militarily, for better or worse. However, China should accept other country’s ideas and opinions if they want to have leadership in the world.

What impressed me most about this incident is that many well-known tennis players, including Naomi Osaka, expressed their concerns about Ms. Peng Shuai’s safety and protested against the Chinese government just after she was reported to be missing.

I think that the Chinese government repeats failure diplomatically. They seemed to underestimate this problem at first it was a personal problem and was never a diplomatic dispute. However, the importance is unchanged even if a problem of human rights is a personal problem or it is a problem of a race.

I can understand that many countries including Japan have decided to boycott to demand that Chinese government surely protect athletes. However, I am afraid if the world will have hate feelings to China and that will increase Asian hate.

Firstly I compliment the woman who accused a former ranking politician of forcing her into a sexal relationship because there is still exist of prejudice about women who is sexually assaulted. So, I think more people should recognize that they think of themselves,or sex victim will not decrease in the future.

Even though the Me Too movement has been viral worldwide, in countries like China, it seems impossible to speak out the truth. Since obviously the Chinese government itself controls media, and imposes strict restrictions, there is no right to freedom of expression. So I think it was very brave of Peng to tweet about what happened to her. I hope the support from WTA and other nations has a great influence and put pressure on China to change Peng’s situation for the better.

It’s a shame that some younger women are still treated with sexual interest. I think it good that recently several official institutions have ventured to protest against female discrimination. I wish the day would come when women are never dominated by men with power and money.

I’m really worried about her safety judging from the situation. The Chinese government controls everything with strict regulations like restrictions on news media. It’s important to turn our interest toward the broader issue of human rights not only her safety but also human rights of Uighurs.

I think WTA’S decision made a lot of countries surprised and showed how important to protect human rights. I hope WTA can contact with that female player and she will be free soon.

I entirely support WTA’s decision. That’s because it shows that the most important thing is to protect human rights not commercial benefit. For example, the decision may lead to losing tennis market in China, which is supported by the Chinese government. But WTA simply protects women’s professional tennis.

I don’t know whether diplomatic boycott of Beijing Olympics is effective to stop human rights violating of China. However, complete boycott of the games is not appropriate. Many athletes disappointed about the boycott of the Moscow Olympics in 1980.
